You’ll be staying high in the Blue Ridge Mountains, close to the outdoor fun that makes Beech Mountain a favorite North Carolina getaway in every season. Beech Mountain Resort is nearby for skiing, snowboarding and tubing in winter, then mountain biking, scenic lift rides and seasonal events during the warmer months. The area also has nearly 30 miles of hiking trails, including the popular Emerald Outback trail system, plus local restaurants, shops and family-friendly activities around town. For an easy day trip, head toward Banner Elk for more restaurants and shopping, or explore Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone and Blowing Rock. These High Country destinations are within roughly 25 miles or a 45-minute drive of Beech Mountain, depending on weather and mountain traffic.

Getting around
A car is the easiest way to explore Beech Mountain and the surrounding High Country. The condo provides free parking for up to two vehicles, making it simple to drive to the ski resort, restaurants, hiking trails and nearby towns. Mountain roads can be steep and winding, so allow extra travel time and follow weather advisories during winter. Snow, ice and rapidly changing mountain conditions can make winter driving more challenging. A four-wheel-drive or traction-equipped vehicle may be required during snowy weather, and guests should arrive prepared with appropriate tires or chains when conditions call for them. Once you’re back at Pinnacle Inn, you can leave the car parked and enjoy the community’s indoor pool, hot tub, saunas and recreation amenities on-site.
