About the neighborhood
Black Butte Ranch was initially a working cattle ranch and was developed in the 1970's into one of the Pacific Northwest renowned resort communities. Situated on the east side of the Cascade Mountain Range, the days of sunshine are endless. The charming western town of Sisters, Oregon is a scenic fifteen minute drive away. The community of Black Butte is gated, offering championship golf courses and miles of scenic pathways. In the winter, Hoodoo offers excellent skiing and outdoor recreation optoins.

Getting around
If you are coming from Portland, Oregon (PDX) to the ranch, there are two routes; over the Mt Hood pass or the Santiam pass. Both routes take about three hours and 4x4 or chains are often required in the winter months. There are two bus options from Eugene and the Greater Portland, Oregon area to Sisters or nearby Bend. To experience all that Central Oregon offers, it is best to have a car. From RDM, there are transportation services that drive to the ranch. Once you're at the ranch, you can use the miles of pathways to get to restaurants and the country store.
