Lake Sutherland is a beautiful, semi-secluded retreat. While it feels like a private world of its own, it’s remarkably easy to access the best of the Olympic Peninsula from here. Port Angeles: 15–20 minutes (15 miles) east for major groceries (Safeway/Walmart), local breweries, and the Black Ball Ferry to Victoria, B.C. Lake Crescent: 5 minutes west. You’re practically neighbors! Hurricane Ridge: 45 minutes to the heart of the National Park. Sol Duc Hot Springs: 45 minutes to the west. Parking at the Property We provide free on-site parking for up to 2 vehicles. The driveway is well-maintained, but like many lake-side properties, it can be a bit snug—please park mindfully! The Shared Dock: Located just 450 feet (a short 2-minute walk) from your door. Public Boat Launch: If you are bringing your own motorized boat, there is a public WDFW boat ramp on the lake. Note: A Washington Discover Pass is required for parking at the public launch. Power Sports: Lake Sutherland is one of the few lakes in the area that allows motorized craft, so it's a popular spot for water skiing and jet skiing in the summer months. The Route: You can take the "Strait Shot" (Route 123) from the Bainbridge Island Ferry Terminal directly to the Port Angeles Gateway Transit Center.
