About the neighborhood

Chateau Camano is in the peaceful Madrona Beach area of Camano Island, close to the shoreline of Saratoga Passage. It’s a lovely spot for slow mornings, beach walks, kayaking, fishing, wildlife watching, and sunset views across the water toward the Olympic Mountains. Guests can spend the day exploring Camano Island State Park, Cama Beach State Park, Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve, local galleries, small shops, and island dining. Camano Island State Park offers forest trails, rocky beaches, boating, fishing, and opportunities to spot seals, porpoises, gray whales, orcas, and bald eagles.

Getting around

A car is the easiest way to explore Camano Island, pick up groceries, visit the state parks, and reach nearby restaurants and attractions. Unlike many Puget Sound islands, Camano Island is connected to the mainland by bridge, so guests can drive on and off the island without taking a ferry. Island Transit also provides bus service on Camano Island, but routes and schedules may be limited compared with driving, especially when visiting beaches, parks, and quieter residential areas. Guests planning to rely on transit should review the current Camano service schedule before arrival.
