Wildlife Awareness
You're staying in the Colorado mountains, where bears, deer, foxes, and other wildlife are commonly seen. Please keep your vehicle locked at all times and do not leave food, coolers, beverages, trash, or other scented items inside your car. Proper food storage helps protect both our guests and Colorado's wildlife.
Air Conditioning
Air conditioning is not available and is uncommon in Colorado mountain homes. Thanks to South Fork's cool alpine climate, evenings and mornings are typically very comfortable. During warmer afternoons, simply open the windows and use the provided fans to circulate the fresh mountain air and naturally cool the cabin.
Winter Travel
Winter weather in the mountains can change quickly. Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with appropriate winter tires is strongly recommended during the winter months and may be necessary during snowstorms.
Because the cabin is located in a rural mountain setting, detailed turn-by-turn arrival instructions will be provided prior to your stay. GPS navigation may not always direct guests accurately.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that guests purchase travel insurance to protect their trip. Our cancellation and refund policies apply in all circumstances, and we are unable to offer refunds for events outside of our control, including but not limited to weather events, natural disasters, illness, flight delays or cancellations, road closures, or personal emergencies. Travel insurance can help cover these unforeseen situations and provide peace of mind.
House Expectations
We kindly ask that you treat Diamond J's Riverside Retreat with the same care and respect as your own home. Any damages, excessive cleaning requirements, or violations of house rules may result in additional charges.
The home is stocked with a practical starter supply of essential toiletries, paper products, kitchen basics, and cleaning items before each guest arrival.
Starter supplies may include:
These items are intended to help guests settle in comfortably and cover the beginning of their stay. Supplies are not unlimited, and guests staying for longer periods may need to purchase additional items.
Thank you for helping us preserve an exceptional experience for future guests.
