About the neighborhood
Nestled along the scenic Mendocino Coast, this area offers the perfect mix of privacy, nature, and easy access to the coast. Guests love the peaceful atmosphere, towering redwoods, and the feeling of being tucked away in a quiet coastal retreat while still being just a short drive from downtown Gualala. The neighborhood is rural and serene, with large properties, forested surroundings, and ocean views. It is an ideal destination for travelers looking to relax, unplug, and enjoy the slower pace of the Northern California coast. Downtown Gualala offers local restaurants, art galleries, grocery stores, coffee shops, and small-town coastal charm. Getting around
The easiest way to get around the area is definitely by car. The Mendocino Coast is very rural and spread out, so having your own vehicle will give you the most flexibility for exploring beaches, hiking trails, restaurants, and nearby coastal towns. Scenic Highway 1 is the main route through the area, and the drives themselves are absolutely beautiful. Ride share services like Uber and Lyft are not available. Because of this, we do not recommend relying on ride shares as your primary transportation during your stay. Guests should also plan ahead for groceries and dining, as everything is a short drive rather than walking distance. Cell service can be spotty in some areas, so downloading maps and directions ahead of time is always a good idea. Part of the charm of staying here is the peaceful, remote atmosphere, and having a car makes it easy to fully enjoy everything the coast has to offer at your own pace.
