Depoe Bay, OR, USA
About the neighborhood
This home is one of six townhomes built in 2024 and is situated just a short block from the Marina and City Park. Depoe Bay is one of the Oregon Coast’s most beloved destinations — a place where dramatic ocean views, quaint charm, and small-town friendliness come together in the most unforgettable way. Known as the “Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast,” this scenic harbor town offers endless opportunities to experience the rhythm of the Pacific up close. Whether you’re strolling the seawall, watching the spray from a blowhole, or browsing local shops downtown, Depoe Bay feels like a true escape — peaceful, picturesque, and alive with coastal character. The home’s location places you right in the heart of it all. Just minutes from the harbor, you can start your morning with a walk to watch the fishing boats depart through the narrow channel — the same one that gives Depoe Bay its claim to fame as the “World’s Smallest Navigable Harbor.” Along the waterfront, a line of small businesses and local eateries provide everything from hearty seafood chowder and freshly baked pastries to artisan gifts and coastal treasures. Watch whales from the sidewalk, stop for saltwater taffy, or enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the waves — it’s all right at your fingertips. On a rainy day, hang out and enjoy ocean views from The HORN public house where they have the best clam chowder, an over 18 game room with a billiards & foosball tables and local brews and seafood. For outdoor enthusiasts, Depoe Bay is a dream come true. The coastline here is rugged and beautiful, with dramatic cliffs, tide pools, and scenic overlooks that make for perfect photo ops. Gray whales can be seen nearly year-round from the viewing platforms, and several nearby charter companies offer guided tours for those who want an even closer look. Just south, Boiler Bay and Rocky Creek State Scenic Viewpoints offer panoramic ocean views, picnic areas, and trails for exploring. If you’re looking to venture beyond town, you’ll find a variety of attractions within a short drive. To the north lies Lincoln City, home to wide sandy beaches, kite festivals, outlet shopping, and the famous glass float hunts. To the south, Newport offers the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, and an active fishing port lined with seafood markets and restaurants. Between the two, the drive along Highway 101 is one of the most scenic in the state — a winding stretch that hugs the cliffs and offers postcard-worthy views at every turn. Back in Depoe Bay, the pace is slower and the vibe is friendly. It’s a place where neighbors wave hello, where you can grab coffee at a local café and know the barista by name, and where the sunsets seem to last a little longer. The surrounding neighborhood is peaceful and well-kept, perfect for quiet walks or evening chats on the patio. From the home, you’re close enough to enjoy the excitement of the harbor but far enough away to appreciate the calm — the sound of distant waves and the cool, salty air that defines life on the coast. Depoe Bay also makes an excellent base for exploring the central Oregon Coast. Nearby, you’ll find hidden beaches, hiking trails, and coastal landmarks that feel wonderfully off the beaten path. Otter Crest Loop offers breathtaking views from high above the ocean, while Cape Foulweather provides one of the most dramatic overlooks in Oregon. Scenic viewpoints, state parks, and local art galleries dot the area, making it easy to fill your days with discovery and your nights with quiet relaxation. At the end of the day, whether you’ve been out adventuring or simply enjoying the town’s laid-back rhythm, returning home to this cozy retreat feels like the perfect finale. Depoe Bay is the kind of place that lingers in your memory — a blend of natural beauty, maritime heritage, and small-town heart that keeps visitors coming back year after year. From storm watching in winter to whale spotting in summer, there’s truly no wrong time to experience it. Life here is about simple pleasures: ocean air, good company, and the constant reminder that the coast has a magic all its own.

Park the car and WALK to all that Depoe Bay has to offer. Walk from the property to the Whale Watching Center - on the way stop at the city park complete with a playground and a creek, continue from the park to the marina and marvel at the charter boats and work of fishermen and women sun up to sun down, then pass by the US Coast Guard Station and walk slightly uphill until you hit the 101 where all the excitement of this storybook town is centered, including the Whale Watching Center directly across the 101. If you do want to get back in your car, getting around Depoe Bay and the central Oregon Coast is as easy and enjoyable as the lifestyle itself.
