While our property offers a wonderfully secluded, middle-of-the-woods feel, you are remarkably close to the area's main routes. Here is the breakdown of how to navigate the island from the house:
By Car (Highly Recommended): To fully enjoy everything Whidbey Island has to offer, having a vehicle is the best option.
Downtown Oak Harbor: Just an 8 to 10-minute drive south down Highway 20 for groceries, local restaurants, and shops. Deception Pass State Park: A quick 8-minute drive north brings you right to Washington’s most iconic bridge and state park.
Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (Ault Field): Approximately 10 minutes away, making this an ideal location for visiting military families.⚠️ Driving Tip: Keep an eye out for local deer! They frequently wander near the wooded roadsides, especially around dawn and dusk. Public Transit (It's Free!)Whidbey Island is famous for Island Transit, a completely fare-free bus system. You do not need tickets, passes, or exact change—you just hop on and ride. The main transit hub is located right in Oak Harbor. Routes can connect you all the way down the island to the Clinton Ferry terminal (for a trip into Seattle) or north to Anacortes.
Note: Because our home is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, you will need to drive a few minutes to the nearest main road or Park & Ride lot to catch a bus route.✈️ Airport Connections: If you are flying into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), the Whidbey SeaTac Shuttle is a fantastic, reliable option. It runs multiple scheduled trips daily directly from SeaTac onto the island, with drop-off locations right in Oak Harbor. Parking at the Property: You won't have to worry about tight parking spaces here. The property features a long, spacious driveway with plenty of room for multiple vehicles, as well as a dedicated area to park an RV, boat, or kayak trailer if you are bringing your outdoor toys along
