Getting around
Evergreen Cabin feels isolated, but is conveniently close to all major amenities. A car is recommended, as it provides quick access to Divide, Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, and the many parks, trailheads, fishing spots, and scenic drives throughout the Teller and Park County area.
The cabin is located just 0.2 miles off Highway 67 on a level road that’s regularly plowed in winter. The paved driveway is moderately steep, but access is usually easy even for standard vehicles. As with most mountain travel, an SUV or four-wheel drive is recommended during snowy conditions for added confidence and peace of mind.
The cabin sits in a quiet, lightly traveled mountain neighborhood ideal for short walks, bike rides, and enjoying the surrounding forest and views. Most attractions and amenities are best reached by car. Major grocery stores, pharmacies, a 4-screen movie theater, a hospital, and multiple dining options are all within about 25 minutes.
We’re centrally located for exploring a wide range of Colorado attractions. Monarch Mountain is an easy day trip, located just under two hours away by car and known for its laid-back atmosphere, reliable natural snow, and uncrowded slopes. The majestic Royal Gorge, featuring a suspension bridge and glass gondolas nearly 1,000 feet above the Arkansas River, is just over an hour away. The casinos and historic district of Cripple Creek are about 20 minutes from the cabin.
The Pikes Peak Cog Railway, which takes you to the summit of Pikes Peak, is under 30 miles away, as is Cave of the Winds, a dramatic natural cavern system offering guided tours through winding limestone passages and underground chambers. Old Colorado City, with its charming shops, restaurants, and access to some of the most scenic parts of Colorado Springs, is about a 40-minute drive.
