Set on approximately 1.5 private wooded acres, The Alpine gives families and groups room to spread out and reconnect. Start the morning with coffee on the wraparound porch, spend the day skiing, hiking, rafting, paddling, swimming, shopping or sightseeing, then return for a family meal, games, music and a fire under the stars. Inside the Home: The Alpine is designed for group stays, with comfortable gathering spaces, a wood-burning stove, Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, small karaoke machine, foosball table, board games, puzzles, cards, poker chips, mahjong, books, binoculars and musical instruments for family fun and sing-alongs. The library includes books, Adirondack maps and information about local attractions, trails and points of interest. Fully Equipped Chef's Kitchen: The large chef's kitchen is made for family meals and group cooking, with generous workspaces and dual sinks so several people can cook at once. It includes a dishwasher, coffee grinder, drip coffee maker, blender, toaster, cookware, utensils, baking and mixing equipment, pasta-making tools, roasting pans, pressure cooker, extra-large slow cooker, fish roaster and specialty kitchen tools. Coffee and tea are provided. Heading to Gore Mountain for the day? Put dinner in the slow cooker before you leave and come home to a hot meal. Sleeping Arrangements: The home sleeps up to 12 guests with a king bedroom, two queen bedrooms, two full bedrooms, an additional twin bed, a full-size portable cot and portable crib / Pack 'n Play. A high chair is also provided. All bedrooms are on the second floor, and interior stairs are required. Outdoor Living: Enjoy the wraparound porch with rocking chairs, an outdoor seating area under bistro-style string lighting, gas grill, wooded yard and fire pit. Starter firewood is provided for your first fire, indoors in the wood-burning stove or outdoors at the fire pit. Families can enjoy the playhouse, swing set, volleyball, badminton and room to play outside. Gore Mountain and North Creek: Winter brings downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Warmer months bring hiking, mountain biking, rail biking, scenic gondola rides, whitewater rafting, fishing and spectacular Adirondack fall foliage. Seasonal events include Gore Mountain Harvest Fest, scenic skyrides, live music, crafts and family activities. Minerva Lake and Donnelly Beach: Our local Minerva Lake is a favorite for families. Donnelly Beach offers seasonal lifeguarded swimming, a concession stand, picnic areas, playgrounds and easy access to canoeing, kayaking, sailing and fishing. Canoe and kayak rentals may also be available seasonally. The Town of Minerva hosts community events and live music at the lake. In winter, Minerva offers public ice skating, weather permitting, with a warming hut, night skating and skates available for public use at no cost. Schroon Lake, Schroon River and Hudson River: Schroon Lake is popular for swimming, boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding, with boat and watersports rentals available in the area. Near Warrensburg, the Schroon River offers scenic paddling and seasonal tubing, with local outfitters and campgrounds offering kayak, canoe, rowboat and tube rentals with river access. Adventure seekers can experience Adirondack whitewater rafting on the Hudson River and Upper Hudson River Gorge, with rafting outfitters operating in and around North Creek. Lake George: Lake George makes an easy day trip for beaches, boating, boat rentals, sightseeing cruises, waterfront dining, live music, family attractions, shopping and seasonal events.
