Popular destinations including Dillsboro, Bryson City, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Western Carolina University, Southwestern Community College, and countless hiking trails, waterfalls, rivers, and scenic overlooks are all within easy driving distance.
Once you arrive in downtown Sylva, you'll enjoy strolling its charming Main Street filled with locally owned shops, restaurants, coffee houses, and breweries. While the surrounding attractions are spread throughout the region, the drives are scenic and part of the Western North Carolina experience.
As with any mountain destination, some roads beyond the cottage become winding as you explore the area, and weather conditions can change seasonally. We recommend allowing a little extra travel time when heading into the mountains and checking local weather forecasts during winter months.
