Grandview | Stunning Mountain Views Near Brevard
Welcome to Grandview! We hope you enjoy your stay and everything that makes Western North Carolina such a special place. Please review the information below to help you prepare for your mountain getaway.
Mountain Roads
Grandview is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While the home is easily accessible, mountain roads are winding and occasionally steep. Please drive carefully, especially after dark, during rain, or in winter weather.
Winter storms can occasionally bring snow or ice. If winter weather is forecast, all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive may be recommended.
Weather
Mountain weather changes quickly. A sunny morning can turn into an afternoon thunderstorm, and evenings are often much cooler than daytime temperatures.
We recommend bringing:
Layers for changing temperatures
Rain gear
Comfortable hiking shoes
Sunscreen and insect repellent for outdoor adventures
Wildlife
One of the best parts of staying in the mountains is experiencing nature, but that also means sharing it with local wildlife. You may see black bears, deer, wild turkeys, foxes, raccoons, snakes, and many native birds.
Please help protect both yourself and the wildlife by:
Never feeding wildlife
Keeping food and trash secured
Supervising children and pets outdoors
Respecting wildlife from a safe distance
Insects
Grandview is surrounded by beautiful forests. Despite regular professional pest control, you may occasionally encounter spiders, ladybugs, ants, beetles, or other native insects. This is completely normal in a mountain environment and does not indicate the home is unclean.
Fiber Internet
The home is equipped with high-speed 400/400 Mbps fiber internet and mesh Wi-Fi throughout most of the property. While service is generally very reliable, severe weather or utility outages can occasionally affect internet service.
Power Outages
Strong storms occasionally cause temporary power outages in the mountains. Restoration is handled by the local utility company and is outside our control. Flashlights are available should an outage occur.
Water & Septic System
Grandview is served by a private well and septic system.
To help protect the system:
Flush only toilet paper.
Do not flush wipes, even if labeled flushable, paper towels, feminine products, cotton swabs, or hygiene products.
Avoid pouring grease, oils, coffee grounds, or food scraps down the drains.
Outdoor Recreation
You are surrounded by some of the best outdoor recreation in the Southeast.
Nearby attractions include:
Pisgah National Forest
DuPont State Recreational Forest
Looking Glass Falls
Sliding Rock
Gorges State Park
Blue Ridge Parkway
Downtown Brevard
Asheville
Hendersonville
Biltmore Estate
Before heading out, always check trail conditions, park alerts, and Blue Ridge Parkway road closures, especially after heavy rain or winter weather.
Bikes Welcome
Mountain biking is one of the area's biggest attractions. You're welcome to store your bikes in the garage, where you'll find a bike stand and basic maintenance tools to help keep you rolling.
Please avoid bringing muddy bikes into the living areas.
Fire Safety
Western North Carolina occasionally experiences seasonal burn bans.
Please:
Follow all local fire restrictions.
Never leave outdoor fires unattended.
Completely extinguish any fire before leaving it.
Respect the Neighborhood
Grandview is located in a quiet residential mountain community.
Please:
Observe quiet hours, especially in the evenings.
Respect neighboring properties.
Park only in designated areas.
Follow the home's maximum occupancy.
Travel Insurance (Strongly Recommended)
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip.
Travel insurance may provide coverage for unexpected events such as:
Illness or injury
Family emergencies
Flight delays or cancellations
Severe weather
Wildfires or mandatory evacuations
Road closures
Other unforeseen travel disruptions
Because these events are beyond anyone's control, refunds outside of the reservation's cancellation policy generally cannot be provided.
