Getting around
Monte Rio is a cozy, walkable town by the Russian River where popular spots—like riverfront beaches, local dining, and movie nights—are within short walking distance. The hillside home is accessed via a steep exterior staircase, which may not work for guests with limited mobility. Street parking is available nearby on a first‑come, first‑served basis; most visitors find it easy to park, but keep in mind there are no designated parking lots in the neighborhood. Public Transportation Though outlying and somewhat remote, Monte Rio is served by Sonoma County Transit’s Route 20 (and the occasional 28 river shuttle), which runs daily between Monte Rio, Guerneville, and Santa Rosa  Bus stops such as Hwy 116 & Church St (Monte Rio) and D St & Bohemian Hwy are within a one‑minute walk of the home  The hourly Route 20 service makes it possible to reach nearby towns, catch connecting transit at the Santa Rosa Transit Mall, or even make occasional trips to Sonoma or the coast—all without a car
