What’s new in Fairly: Early check-in, late check-out & caretaker background checks are now available in Fairly

We have been hard at work over the past month building new tools that make it easier than ever to manage your home and deliver exceptional experiences to your guests. Today, we are excited to share a few updates that will streamline check-in and check-out and make it easier to connect with dedicated, high-quality caretakers you can trust.

1. Early check-in is here

Make your guests’ day by offering them early check-in! Standard check-in time is 4pm, but care team members can now offer early check-in to guests once the home is marked clean and within 24 hours of check-in. If your home uses an integrated smart lock, the guest access code will automatically update to the new check-in time.

There are 3 ways to offer early check-in to guests:

  • Once the home is marked clean, you’ll be automatically prompted to offer early check-in, if possible
  • From the Reservation, click the three dots next to the check-in time, then select “Set up early check-in”
  • From the Today page on your dashboard, click the three dots next to their name and select “Set up early check-in” for guests arriving today or tomorrow.

2. Late check-out now available

Want to go the extra mile and offer guests a more flexible morning? Care team members can now extend the standard 10:00 AM check-out time up to 4:00 PM on the day of departure, if no guests are arriving later that day. For homes with integrated smart locks, guest access codes will update automatically.

Similar to early check-in, you can adjust check-out times from the Reservation directly and from the Today page.

3. Request a Caretaker background check

We know how stressful it can be to find a trustworthy Caretaker, so we’ve made it easier for homeowners to get peace of mind when matching with their Caretaker.

On every Caretaker profile, homeowners will now see the prompt: “Interested in running a background check?”

Clicking on the link redirects you to Checkr, our recommended third party vendor for background checks due to their transparent and easy process. If you’d like more information on how to complete the background check process, visit our support page on how to request a background check from a caretaker.

A few things to note on background checks:

  • Background checks are run by a third party vendor, Checkr. While we recommend using Checkr, you are free to use any background check provider you prefer.
  • Beyond recommending a vendor, Fairly is not involved in the background check process at this time.
  • Before you run a background check, the Caretaker must consent to the check. The Caretaker must provide their email address to be invited to complete the check off-platform.
  • Homeowners must cover the cost of the background check and review the results themselves.
